First of all, consult the care label on each JOTT product for washing instructions.
Machine wash :
1/
If your down jacket is stained, gently rub the stain with your washing powder using a washcloth.
2/
Use a program recommended
and use an anti-allergenic detergent.
Remember to close all the zips on your down jacket before putting it in the machine. To ensure that your down jacket retains its loft during washing, we recommend adding two clean tennis balls. This allows the down to breathe! Do not wring out your down jacket.
Hand wash :
1/
If your down jacket is stained, gently rub the stain with your washing powder using a washcloth.
2/
Wash your down jacket with your usual detergent.
Rinse the down jacket thoroughly with water to avoid staining, and avoid wringing it out to prevent
the down from sticking together.
For faux fur:
Remove the faux fur before washing and drying.
Faux fur must be professionally dry-cleaned to maintain its appearance and properties over time.
First of all, consult the care label on each JOTT product for drying instructions.
Machine drying :
1/
Blot your down jacket with a towel to remove excess water.
2/
Use the program indicated on the label, repeating if necessary until the feather is completely dry.
Add the tennis balls to the dryer and, between each cycle, take out your down jacket to shake it out and distribute the feathers evenly.
Remember to close all the zips on your down jacket before putting it in the dryer.
Adding the tennis balls helps to distribute the feathers evenly. It's also important to ensure that the feather is completely dry, to avoid the formation of compact balls that are difficult to remove.

Natural drying :
1/
Blot your down jacket with a towel to remove excess water.
2/
Turn and pat your down jacket regularly to prevent feathers from sticking together.
Never dry your down jacket on a radiator or other heat source.
The only beneficial heat is the sun: it dries and restores the puffiness of the down jacket. So summer is the ideal time to look after your down jacket.

Follow our advice to ensure the longevity of your down jacket!
1/ Is it raining? Wear your reversible on the smooth side!
The coatings on our reversible down jackets offer 2 types of protection:
- water-repellent properties for the classic nylon side.
- totally waterproof protection for the smooth side of the jacket.
2/ Is it windy? You can wear your windbreaker! The nylon of our down jackets will protect you a little from the wind. But if you want to be really sheltered, think about windbreakers, the materials are specially designed to protect you.
3/ Is your down jacket stained? Gently rub the stain with your detergent using a washcloth before washing!
4/ Machine wash & dry your down jacket?
Remember to add two clean tennis balls to aerate the down, and don't forget to close all the zips on your down jacket before putting it in the machine.
JOTT recommends leaving the washing machine door open after each wash to prevent bacteria from multiplying.
5/ Is there a hole in your down jacket? If the lining has a hole, we advise you to contact a professional seamstress who can help you. If you have kept the storage bag, she/he can use it (fabric, patch...) to reinforce the hole and prevent the seams from giving way again. Alternatively, she/he can use the inside pocket of the jacket for patching. Do not use iron-on elements.
Take a few precautions to avoid damaging your down jacket!
1/ Do not wear your water-repellent down jacket in the rain. JOTT's classic nylon coatings let water slide off the surface without absorbing it. If you want to be protected from the rain, opt for a waterproof down jacket!
2/ Don't pull on the feathers. All down jackets with real down lose some of their feathers with the cold and static electricity. Feathers are drawn outwards like magnets.
3/ Do not use iron-on elements. If the lining has a hole, we advise you to contact a professional seamstress, who will be able to help you. If you've kept the storage pouch, she/he can use it (fabric, patch...) to reinforce the hole and prevent the seams from giving way again. Otherwise, she/he can use the inside pocket of the jacket for the patch.
4/ Never dry your down jacket on a radiator. You can put your down jacket close to a source of heat, but never too close, to avoid damaging the nylon. The only beneficial heat is the sun: it dries and restores the puffiness of the down jacket. So summer is the ideal time to look after your down jacket.
JOTT prohibits the use of bleach for the care of textile products.
Shoe care
We recommend using a clean toothbrush (or a dry soft-bristle brush or damp cloth) with a little washing-up liquid. Brush gently to avoid damaging the material.
For laces, we recommend soaking them in hot water with a little washing-up liquid, cleaning them by hand and rinsing afterwards.
We recommend that you air-dry your shoes at room temperature. Make sure they are completely dry before wearing.
Garment care
Knitwear must be ironed according to the care label to regain its original shape.
Shrinkage after washing is tested.
However, shrinkage of up to 5% is tolerable.
